【オープンソース】FreeNAS 9.2.1.6

久しぶりに FreeNAS の環境を作る機会が巡ってきた。

いつのまにか、9.2.1.6 までバージョンが上がっていた。

どれぐらい進化したか興味深々である。

【FreeBSD】「bhyvecon Tokyo 2014」開催 - 次世代ハイパーバイザを知る

MyNavi に掲載の記事より「bhyvecon Tokyo 2014」開催 - 次世代ハイパーバイザを知る」が 3月12日に開催されるようです。
bhyve は、FreeBSDに採用される Hypervisor で、次期バージョン10から追加になっています。
これから注目の技術ですね。

【オープンソース】scpコマンドで帯域制限

久々のオープンソースネタです。

scpコマンドで帯域制限オプションが使えることを初めて知りました。

いや〜便利ですね。

scp -l オプションで指定：kbit/秒で指定

OpenLDAP 2.4 「failed to start slapd」

FreeBSD 8.1 + OpenLDAP 2.4 を構築中に slapd が起動しない状態に遭遇しました。

# /usr/local/etc/rc.d/slapd onestart
messages ファイルに以下のメッセージが表示。
/usr/local/etc/rc.d/slapd: WARNING: failed to start slapd

うーん、何が原因だろうか？
と悩んでいましたが、slapdtest コマンドを発見。

# slapdtest
/usr/local/etc/openldap/schema/inetorgperson.schema: line 155 objectclass: AttributeType not found: "audio"
slaptest: bad configuration file!

inetorgperson.schema のAttributeType に指定している audio が見つからないとの事。
よくわからないので、inetorgperson.schema を読み込まないように設定し解決。

FreeBSD 8.0 でチーミングの設定方法です。

FreeBSD では、6.3以降でチーミングドライバが登場したようです。
8.0 では、カーネルに組み込まれていますので、設定作業だけで利用できます。
利用するドライバは「lagg」です。
lagg - link aggregation and link failover interface

【設定方法】

/etc/rc.conf に書いて /etc/rc.d/netif restart で反映できます。

# vi /etc/rc.conf
# setup lagg interface
cloned_interfaces="lagg0 lagg1"
# lagg0
ifconfig_bce0="UP"
ifconfig_bce1="UP"
ifconfig_lagg0="create"
ifconfig_lagg0="laggproto failover laggport bce0 laggport bce1 192.168.1.1 netmask 255.255.255.0"
# lagg1
ifconfig_bce2="UP"
ifconfig_bce3="UP"
ifconfig_lagg1="create"
ifconfig_lagg1="laggproto failover laggport bce2 laggport bce3 192.168.10.1 netmask 255.255.255.0"

# /etc/rc.d/netif restart

これで利用できるようになります。
Linuxより簡単かもしれませんね。

FreeBSD 8.1リリース

FreeBSD 8.1 が 7月 23日にリリースされました。
今回の主なアップデートは、次の通りです。

zfsloader added
zpool version of ZFS subsystem updated to version 14
NFSv4 ACL support in UFS and ZFS; support added to cp(1), find(1), getfacl(1), mv(1), and setfacl(1) utilities
UltraSPARC IV/IV+, SPARC64 V support
SMP support in PowerPC G5
BIND 9.6.2-P2
sendmail updated to 8.14.4
OpenSSH updated to 5.4p1
GNOME 2.30.1, KDE 4.4.5

ZFS関連が中心のようですが、Release note には気を引く事が書いてありました。

The HAST (Highly Avalable STorage) framework has been added. This is a framework to allow transparently storing data on two physically separated machines connected over the TCP/IP network. HAST works in Primary-Secondary (Master-Backup, Master-Slave) configuration, which means that only one of the cluster nodes can be active at any given time. Only Primary node is able to handle I/O requests to HAST-managed devices. Currently HAST is limited to two cluster nodes in total.

Linux では、DRBD なるソフトウェアで筐体ミラーが可能ですが、同じことが FreeBSD + HAST で可能になるということですね。
FreeBSD + ZFS + HAST で冗長化いけそうです。
